Kids Making Money

Ways for Kids to Earn Money – Stop being their ATM!

Are you looking for ideas and ways for kids to earn money so that they can understand how to:

  • Value money?
  • Make money?
  • Save money?

Imagine what your kids life would be like if they knew how to earn money, anywhere, anytime for themselves, rather than having to rely on you as their ATM.

The strategies that successful business people and entrepreneurs use can be learned and the earlier learned the better. According to sociologist Dr Morris Massey, the first 7 years of a child’s life is referred to as the ‘Imprint Period’. This is the period of their life where they copy what you do without any conscious awareness and is responsible for many of their values and beliefs about life – money being one of them.

Therefore, by teaching your kids about money at an early stage in life, they will not only understand the value of a dollar, they can also create their own ‘cash machine’ or businesses and who knows…… may end up being the next Bill Gates or Richard Branson!

As a father of 4 young children, I just wanted to thank you for sharing the strategies and concepts in your book. Both Katie & I found it very useful.

Even though I work in the finance industry and understand how money works, I didn’t realise what messages I was sending my kids by leaving all of my lose change around the house and how this may affect how they value money later in life.

When we spoke of family values, one that I thought about a bit later, was that I wanted my kids to be better off than I was at their age – and I believe with this new thinking regarding money – they will be significantly better off.

I came home last night and Daniel (4) was up and going to the toilet – so I asked him – “Where does money come from?” and he said “from work daddy – silly!”

Thank you again for such valuable information.”

Mark McCabe – father of 4.
